Indian Joke

Three squaws in this Indian tribe were all expecting.

As is the tradition in this tribe, it is the responsibility of the husband to build a new birth tepee, for his expectant wife.

He then goes out to kill an animal, skin it and places the hide on the floor of the tepee, for his wife to lie on during the actual child birth.

The first brave went out and returned with a fine deer. The animal was skinned the hide was laid on the floor of the tepee.

Subsequently his wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

The second brave went hunting and he returned with a buffalo which he skinned and also laid the hide on the floor of the tepee.

Subsequently his wife gave birth, this time to a fine healthy boy.

It so happened that the third expectant squaw was the wife of the tribal chief. It certainly wasn’t the done thing for the Chief to go hunting to bring back a skin for the child birth. So, he despatched three braves to Africa to find an unusual skin. Eventually, they returned with a Hippopotamus, which was skinned and the hide duly laid in the newly built tepee for the Chief’s wife.

A couple of weeks later, the Chief’s wife gave birth to a healthy pair of twins, a boy and a girl.

Which once again adds strength to Pythagoras, that:

"The squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws of the other two hides !!!"
